I don’t consider myself a writer. Instead, writing is communicating my research and findings to a broader audience. I strive to provide scientific knowledge to help people make informed decisions and think critically about the world around them. In addition, I hope to inspire others to actively promote scientific understanding and skepticism through my books and other written works.

Το βιβλίο αυτό επικεντρώνεται σε ένα μικρό, αλλά σημαντικό μέρος των δυνατοτήτων της ΤΝ: σχέδια μαθήματος που χρησιμοποιούν την τεχνολογία για να βοηθήσουν μαθητές στην πρωτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση. Αυτά τα σχέδια δεν αποτελούν μόνο εργαλεία για την καλλιέργεια γνώσεων σε επιλεγμένα γνωστικά αντικείμενα, αλλά λειτουργούν και ως μέσο για την ενίσχυση της κριτικής σκέψης, της δημιουργικότητας και της τεχνολογικής επάρκειας των μαθητών. Ενώ οι δυνατότητες της ΤΝ στην εκπαίδευση είναι τεράστιες, αυτό το βιβλίο επικεντρώνεται στο πώς μπορεί να αξιοποιηθεί στην πράξη μέσα από συγκεκριμένα παραδείγματα διδασκαλίας.

Compact Composite Descriptors for Content-Based Image Retrieval: Basics, Concepts, Tools
This book covers state of the art in image indexing and retrieval techniques paying particular attention to recent trends and applications. It presents the basic notions and tools of content-based image description and retrieval, covering all significant aspects of image preprocessing, feature extraction, similarity matching, and evaluation methods. Particular emphasis is given to recent computational intelligence techniques for producing compact content-based descriptors comprising color, texture, and spatial distribution information. Early and late fusion techniques are also used for improving retrieval results from large, probably distributed inhomogenous databases. The book reports on the basic international standards and provides an updated presentation of the current retrieval systems.
